In the first eight months of 2025, exports of fish and seafood from Russia to Japan amounted to 82 thousand tons, which is 15% higher compared to the same period last year. Such data was announced by the Fish Union.
Over the past period, fish exports in monetary terms amounted to 606 million dollars, an increase of 10% year-on-year.
Supplies of pollock surimi (+50% in physical terms and +75% in value) and pollock fillets (+50% in physical terms and +55% in value) have increased the most since the beginning of the years. At the same time, exports of ice-cream strigun crab (-20% in physical terms and + 5% in monetary terms) and Kamchatka crab (-35% in physical terms and -15% in value) decreased. The volume of supplies of pollock caviar and live sea urchin (+15% in monetary terms) remained at the level of last year.
Supplies of squid increased 23 times in physical terms and almost 40 times in value due to the effect of the "low base" last year.
