Former Minister of "Open Government" Mikhail Abyzov, who was sentenced to 12 years in a penal colony for creating a criminal community and other crimes, has become a defendant in a new criminal case. He is charged with fraud on a particularly large scale. This is reported by TASS.

From the colony where Abyzov was serving his sentence, he was transferred to Moscow to conduct investigative actions in a new criminal case. Details of new episodes of his illegal activities are not reported.

In December 2023, Abyzov was found guilty of committing a number of crimes, including the creation of a criminal community, fraud, money laundering, illegal participation in business activities and commercial bribery. He was sentenced to 12 years in a high-security penal colony with a fine of 80 million rubles.
