By the end of 2024, Russia retained its status as a leader in suppliers of uranium enrichment for American nuclear power plants. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to data from the US Energy Information Administration.

Russia accounted for 20% of the total volume of isotope separation services purchased by the United States last year, which is the largest share. France (18% of supplies) and the Netherlands (15%) are in second and third places.

At the same time, the United States has a ban on the import of uranium from the Russian Federation, but with the amendment, the US Department of Energy can continue purchases until 2028 in the absence of alternative suppliers.
