FAS demanded gas stations to justify the increase in fuel prices

The Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service have sent requests to the owners of gas stations in the regions demanding to justify the increase in prices for motor fuel. This is reported with reference to market participants and relevant letters from the FAS «Известия».

Gas stations are also asked to provide information about the availability of fuel reserves and possible supply problems.

If a violation of the antimonopoly legislation is established, the agency will decide whether to initiate a case. By now, the FAS has already issued warnings to owners of gas station networks in the Tver and Tyumen regions.
