Excise taxes on alcohol will increase from January 1, 2026

Starting from January 1, 2026, excise taxes on alcoholic beverages will be raised in Russia. The relevant amendments to the Tax Code have been submitted by the government for consideration by the State Duma.

Thus, the excise tax on alcohol stronger than 18 degrees will increase from 740 rubles to 824 rubles per 1 liter of anhydrous ethyl alcohol contained in products.

The excise tax on alcohol lower than 18 degrees will increase from the current 148 rubles to 165 rubles for the volume fraction of ethyl alcohol.

The excise tax for still wine will increase from 113 rubles to 148 rubles per 1 liter, sparkling wine - from 125 rubles to 160 rubles.

The excise tax on beer with a strength of up to 8.6%, as well as cider, poiret and mead will increase from 30 to 33 rubles per 1 liter.
