Planned from 2026 raising the minimum wage to 27,093 rubles will have a direct impact on the amount of several important social benefits. As explained by TASS Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for the public examination of draft laws, the base for calculating minimum sick leave, maternity (maternity) benefits, child care benefits up to one and a half years, as well as vacation pay will be revised upward.
"It affects various aspects, including wages, vacation and travel expenses, temporary disability benefits, child care benefits for up to one and a half years, as well as insurance premiums," said Evgeny Masharov.
The expert emphasizes that the increase in the minimum wage will not affect the amount of pensions already awarded. However, this growth is important for future pensioners, because with increasing salaries, insurance premiums also increase, forming the pension rights of citizens.
Currently, the federal minimum wage is 22,440 rubles.
