The European Union is discussing the introduction of a ban on local companies investing in special economic zones (SEZs) in the Russian Federation. It is assumed that these measures will be included in the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions. This is reported by Politico with reference to the draft proposals on restrictive measures.

The EU also plans to ban companies from reinsuring Russian ships and aircraft for five years after their sale.

European companies may also be prohibited from doing business with ports located outside the European Union, in particular those used to sell military equipment or circumvent the ceiling on oil prices.
