The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a comprehensive plan for the development of infrastructure in the regions, calculated until 2036. This was announced by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Mikhail Mishustin.

As part of the implementation of the plan, about 4,500 km of railways, more than 2,000 km of highways, more than 800 km of ultra-high voltage power transmission lines, and almost 20,000 km of fiber-optic communication lines will be built and reconstructed. The plans also include the renovation of 40 medical organizations and research centers, the construction of dozens of university campuses, the modernization of 60 airport complexes, the launch of 10 new power units at 5 nuclear power plants, as well as the construction of other important infrastructure facilities.

According to Mishustin, this work will be carried out within the framework of existing national projects, state programs and with the active use by the regions of support mechanisms specially created for these purposes, in particular, the cancellation of two thirds of the debt on budget loans. It was also noted that the volume of infrastructure budget loans has been significantly increased for the next six years.

Mishustin called on the regional leaders to keep the situation under constant control and complete all the tasks set in full and on time.
