In 2028, cargo and passenger service between Russia and China will be launched via Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. This is reported by the Kremlin with reference to the head of the Ministry of Regional Development Alexei Chekunkov.

Work is already underway to create an appropriate border infrastructure and checkpoint. In the future, Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island may become a pilot Russian-Chinese zone of international cooperation.
