Businesses were advised to change signs with foreign words without waiting for the law to come into force.

Business owners should start replacing signage using foreign words before the law on the protection of the Russian language comes into force. This recommendation was given to the business by the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

Volodin stressed that the Russian Federation is tolerant of all peoples and representatives of any nationality, but the country must protect its own language and identity. This should be done by domestic entrepreneurs, as well as foreign ones, as a sign of respect for the Russian language and local culture.
