Russia will achieve its goals and will not give up on them: Putin to Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump. The conversation lasted about an hour, it was devoted to discussing Ukraine, among other things. This was announced by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

The American leader again raised the issue of an early cessation of hostilities, to which Putin said that the Russian Federation was continuing to search for a political settlement to the conflict. He stressed that Russia will achieve its goals and will not give up on them.

According to Ushakov, in general, the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States were on the same wavelength, the conversation was frank, businesslike and specific. The parties agreed to continue their communication.
