The share of non-cash payments in Russia is 86.7% - Central Bank

Today, the share of non-cash payments in the total volume of payments is 86.7%. This was reported by TASS with reference to Alla Bakina, Director of the Department of the National Payment system of the Central Bank.

According to Bakina, the payment infrastructure in the Russian Federation continues to develop. Last year, the number of ATMs and POS terminals increased by 8% to more than 5 million devices, which is above the average level among the G20 countries.> She noted that the share of card payments decreased by 6% last year, and by 10% taking into account the first half of this year. At the same time, the use of alternative payment instruments is increasing.
