At the last plenary session, members of the Federation Council adopted a law prohibiting minors between the ages of 14 and 18 from opening bank accounts without the consent of their parents, guardians or adoptive parents.

The new provision of the law does not apply to teenagers who have fully acquired legal capacity upon marriage or emancipation.

This measure was taken to prevent the commission of illegal acts against minors using their bank accounts.

The law will come into force on August 1, 2025.
