North Korea will help the Russian Federation in the restoration of the Kursk region. This was announced by the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, following the talks in Pyongyang.
According to the agreement, the DPRK will send 1,000 sappers and 5,000 military construction workers to the Kursk region. In addition, the parties agreed to create memorials in Russia and the DPRK in memory of the North Koreans who died during the liberation of the occupied Russian territories. Shoigu also said that during the talks, the resumption of flights between Russia and the DPRK, which was interrupted more than 30 years ago, was discussed. Currently, the parties have begun to restore the railway connection.
