The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has determined the number of regions whose residents will be able to vote remotely during the September elections this year. This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, at a meeting of the commission.
"This year, 34 applications have been submitted, we have carefully studied them and propose to coordinate the holding of the DEG in only 23 regions," Pamfilova said.
The head of the CEC noted that the selected regions are fully prepared to conduct this type of voting. For the first time, remote electronic voting on the federal platform will be available in four regions: North Ossetia, Kurgan, Magadan and Samara regions.
In total, 19.7 million voters will be able to vote online in September.
