SVO participants were allowed to become members of housing and construction cooperatives

The Cabinet of Ministers has expanded the number of categories of citizens eligible to become members of housing and construction cooperatives. Now this list includes participants of the CBO with the status of a combat veteran, as well as participants in repelling the armed invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the border regions of the Russian Federation.

Up to this point, the list of categories of citizens eligible to become members of the HBC consisted of 11 categories: large families; employees of defense industry organizations; representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs and Rosgvardiya with special police ranks; employees of state scientific centers, federal state educational organizations, and state academies of sciences.

HBC members can independently look for contractors and build a house at the expense of mutual contributions. The cost of apartments in such cases is lower than the market price, as construction work is paid for by shareholders, bypassing the intermediary bank.
