The Government Commission on Legislative Activity has supported a bill that toughens criminal liability for violating the rules of a foreign agent. This is reported by TASS with reference to the minutes of the meeting.

According to the bill, a foreign agent will be able to be held criminally liable in case of repeated violation of the rules of work after the already existing fact of being held accountable for an administrative offense under foreign agency articles. Currently, criminal liability occurs after two administrative offenses within a year.

We are talking about such violations as violating the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent; evading duties to submit documents required for inclusion in the register of foreign agents.
