The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation has additionally allocated over 7.5 billion rubles for work to eliminate the consequences of the oil spill in the Kerch Strait.

Rosmorrechflot will manage the funds. With this money, three special protective structures should be made and installed over the sunken fragments of tankers - cofferdams. These shelters will reduce the risks of new oil product spills when they are pumped out of sunken tankers.

Earlier, the Russian government allocated more than 1 billion rubles for dismantling structures on sunken tankers and designing cofferdams.
