The State Duma in the first reading approved the bill on the introduction of the digital ruble

The bill obliges credit institutions to provide customers with the opportunity to receive services on the digital ruble platform, and sellers (performers), owners of aggregators, to provide buyers with the opportunity to pay in digital rubles.

It is assumed that the connection of credit institutions to the platform will take place in stages, depending on the category of credit institution: from July 1, 2025 - systemically important credit institutions, from July 1, 2026 - banks with a universal license, from July 1, 2027 - all credit institutions.

Trading enterprises will also gradually introduce the possibility of settlements in digital rubles: from July 1, 2025, companies with an annual turnover of more than 30 million rubles, from July 1, 2026, with a turnover of more than 20 million rubles, and from July 1, 2027, all others.
