About the memorandum with Ukraine and the ceasefire: Putin told what his conversation with Trump was about

The telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has ended. It lasted more than two hours. Following the conversation, Russian leader Vladimir Putin made a statement to the press.

So, Putin called the conversation with Trump informative, frank and very useful.

The Russian president also said that he expressed gratitude to Trump for the US participation in the resumption of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine.

"Russia stands for stopping the fighting, but it is necessary to work out the most effective ways to move towards peace," Putin said.

According to the Russian president, Trump also expressed his position on the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.

At the same time, Putin said that Russia is ready to work on a memorandum with Ukraine, including a cease-fire if appropriate agreements are reached. However, according to the president, both countries must find compromises that suit everyone. 

"Russia and Ukraine are generally on the right track after the resumption of direct negotiations," Vladimir Putin concluded.
