During the month, sales of new passenger cars in Russia increased by 27.9%

In April, sales of new passenger cars in the Russian Federation recorded a revival. During the month, 102.11 thousand units were sold, which is 27.9% higher than in March. Such data is published by Autostat.

The domestic Lada retains its sales leadership in the Russian market. During the month, 28.49 thousand brand cars were sold (+13.2% month-on-month). The second place is occupied by Chinese Haval - 12.93 thousand units (+32%). In third place is Chery - 10.86 thousand pieces (+29%). Geely (6.66 thousand units, +0%) and Changan (4.62 thousand units, +22%) also entered the TOP 5.

Experts attribute the increased sales to pent-up demand generated in recent months, as well as discounts from dealers amid overstocked warehouses.

At the same time, sales are still being held back by high loan rates. In general, in the four months of 2025, sales of new cars in the Russian Federation fell by 25.4%, to 349 thousand units.
