In Russia, there is a greater chance of a scenario with a slowdown in economic growth than a recession. This opinion was expressed by Kirill Tremasov, adviser to the Chairman of the Central Bank, during the conference "The economy at a high key rate".

- One scenario, it is now called soft landing. This is a good scenario for the current situation," Interfax quoted Tremasov as saying.

He sees the positive side of the implementation of this scenario in the fact that demand is slowing down, the economy is catching up with it, this leads to the restoration of price stability and easing of monetary policy, and we continue to move upward along this stable trajectory.

The essence of the negative scenario is that the return of the Russian economy to a balanced state may be preceded by a recession.

"So far we see more, much more chances of the first scenario being implemented," Tremasov said.

He stressed that after two years of rapid economic growth, its slowdown is a "natural, absolutely normal process." Ph called this process inevitable.

- The economy has indeed deviated from its potential, and a return to a balanced growth trajectory is required. The question is whether it will be possible to return to this trajectory without a recession," he concluded.
