The Russian economy is in dire need of personnel in the field of education, stated Anton Kotyakov, head of the Ministry of Labor, during a meeting of the Council of Legislators, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the industry needs to attract over 480,000 specialists by 2030, including teachers of preschool, general, additional, secondary professional and higher education.
He noted that in the next five years alone, 200,000 specialists need to be trained or returned to the profession. On average, 96,000 teachers need to be trained annually, 40,000 of whom are school teachers.
Currently, 5.4 million people are employed in the industry, of which about 2.5 million work in government institutions: 1.3 million teachers, 600,000 kindergarten teachers, 260 thousand additional education teachers, 177 thousand university teachers and 156 thousand college teachers.
