The Central Bank has not identified any critical barriers in testing the digital ruble

At the financial forum "Just Capital" Alla Bakina, Director of the Department of the National Payment system of the Bank of Russia, reported on the absence of critical barriers in testing the digital ruble.

According to Bakina, testing of the digital ruble continues and is expanding. At the moment, no critical obstacles have been identified, both technologically and legislatively. However, work continues on improving the customer path and finding profitable models of interaction with banks.

In February 2025, the Bank of Russia postponed the mass introduction of the digital ruble to a later date. It was originally planned to start mass implementation after July 1, 2025, but now the date will be determined later.
