The Russian Foreign Ministry has proposed to increase the validity period of electronic entry visas for foreigners from 60 to 120 days. This is reported by TASS with reference to the amendments to the legislation prepared by the agency.

It is also planned to increase the permitted period of stay in the Russian Federation for foreign citizens on an electronic visa. While maintaining the multiplicity of this visa, the period will increase from 16 to 30 days.

It was noted that during the year since the beginning of the unified electronic visa system (from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024), a single electronic visa was issued 541 thousand times in the Russian Federation. Citizens of 55 foreign countries eligible for this opportunity have taken advantage of it, which is 70% of the total number of visas of all categories.
