On March 31, SpaceX launched the Crew Dragon spacecraft with a fully civilian crew, which will fly over the poles of the Earth, TASS informs.

As part of a private manned mission, a fully civilian crew will enter polar orbit for the first time. The flight will take place at an altitude of up to 450 km.

The crew included entrepreneur Chun Wang (Malta), film director Jannike Mikkelsen (Norway), robotics specialist Rabea Rogge (Germany) and professional traveler Eric Philips (Australia). The team will conduct a series of scientific tests, including an X-ray examination in space, a series of exercises to study the preservation of muscle and bone mass, as well as an experiment on growing mushrooms in microgravity.

According to SpaceX, this mission will open up new opportunities for future space tourism.
