"Russia supports the proposal for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, but not at our expense," Russian President Vladimir Putin said during his visit to Murmansk.

He stressed that US President Donald Trump "sincerely" wants an end to the conflict in Ukraine. However, it is not yet clear to Russia with whom to conclude agreements, since the current authorities in Ukraine are not legitimate, and other leaders will come tomorrow.

Putin made a proposal to introduce interim governance in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations and a number of countries to hold elections in the country.

He stressed that Russia is ready to work with any countries seeking to resolve the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict.

Speaking about the peaceful settlement, Putin drew attention to the special position of Europe, which is trying to lead us by the nose. Against this background, the Russian Federation does not intend to make the same mistakes based on trust in its so-called Western partners.
