The American authorities refused to support the F-16 fighters transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The United States has stopped supporting the F-16s transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta informs with reference to Forbes./p> Prior to the transfer to Ukraine, electronic warfare systems were upgraded on the aircraft, affecting the AN/ALQ-131 electronic warfare outboard container and the PIDS+ and ECIPS+ systems. Washington reported that American specialists could not turn off Lockheed Martin F-16 fighters developed in the United States and retrofitted for the Ukrainian Air Force. Only the electronic warfare system will be discontinued in fighters.

The American fighters may be replaced by the French Mirage 2000. On March 7, Ukraine announced that for the first time the Ukrainian Armed Forces used aircraft transferred by France in an attempt to repel a strike by the Russian Armed Forces.
