Russians are expected to have long weekends in May and June due to postponement, RIA Novosti informs.

Residents of the Russian Federation will have a rest from May 8 to 11 and from June 12 to June 15, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, told reporters. Additional days off were formed due to the postponement of non-working days from February 23 and March 8.

In 2025, February 23 coincided with Sunday, and March 8 with Saturday. The balance of working and non-working days stipulated in the Labor Code has not been violated.

«Because of February 23rd, there will be an additional day off on May 8th, so we will rest on May 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th. Due to March 8, we will have an additional day off on June 13, after June 12, Russia Day. We will rest for four days on June 12, 13, 14 and 15, Yaroslav Nilov said.

Postponement of days off is regulated by the government. At the same time, the total number of non-working days per year remains.
