Residents of the Russian Federation have become much less likely to transfer money to Georgia

The volume of transfers from the Russian Federation to Georgia in January 2025 was 62% lower than in the same period last year, Vzglyad informs.

Transfers from the Russian Federation accounted for 10.5% of the total volume of foreign receipts to the country. Russia ranks third in terms of transfers to Georgia, behind the European Union with 45.1% and the United States with 19.5%. In January, residents of the Russian Federation sent $25.5 million worth of transfers to Georgia.

Among the EU countries, Italy, Greece and Germany became the leaders in terms of transfers to Georgia.
