There were Russians released after the exchange on board the special flight detachment «Russia». The plane landed near the Vnukovo-2 government terminal, TASS reports.
Russian citizens were met by the presidential regiment — about forty military personnel. The published footage shows the red carpet.
The released citizens who arrived were imprisoned in the West.
« On August 1, 2024, as a result of the exchange held at Ankara airport, eight Russian citizens detained and imprisoned in a number of NATO countries, as well as minor children, were returned to their homeland, the FSB of Russia said in a statement.
The agency clarifies that the Russians were exchanged for a group of persons acting in the interests of foreign states.
