2025 has been declared the Year of Defender of the Fatherland in Russia. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting of the Russian Organizing Committee of Pobeda.
-As a sign of our indelible memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War and the great Victory over Nazism, as a symbol of the indissoluble continuity of generations, 2025 has been declared the Year of Defender of the Fatherland in Russia, the Russian leader said.
Veterans of the Great Patriotic War will also receive one-time payments of 80 thousand rubles each.
