Preliminary preparations for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and U.S. President Donald Trump at the APEC summit in Shenzhen, China, have been made, with all three sides confirming their readiness to attend. This was stated by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov in an interview with Russian state-run news agency "Vesti".
According to Ushakov, experts have already prepared necessary proposals for organizing the trilateral talks. However, for the meeting to take place, the leaders of Russia, China, and the United States must be in the same location simultaneously. This remains the main condition for the initiative to be realized.
The Kremlin representative also commented on the possibility of naming the potential meeting of the three leaders a "new Yalta." In his view, if the negotiations do take place, they will cause a broad public and political response, and experts and observers will offer their own definitions of the event.
Ushakov noted that the final name for the possible meeting will depend on how it is assessed after it takes place.
