Average Payouts for Auto Insurance Rise 10% Since Start of Year

In the period from January to August 2026, the average payout under motor third-party liability insurance (MTPL) policies in Russia reached 126,351 rubles ($1,540). This represents a year-on-year increase of 10.3% compared to the same period in 2025 when the average payout was 114,534 rubles ($1,395), according to the Russian Union of Automobile Insurers (RUAI).

The average premium for annual MTPL policies also increased, reaching 7,761 rubles ($94), a rise of 6.8% year-on-year.

In August 2026 alone, the average payout under MTPL policies was 141,679 rubles ($1,725), while the average premium for annual policies stood at 8,189 rubles ($99).
