Ex-Deputy Police Chief of Moscow Region Malkov Faced with Two New Criminal Charges

Investigators have filed new criminal charges against former deputy head of the Moscow Region Police Department, Major General Sergei Malkov, according to RIA Novosti reporting from a court session where a complaint regarding his arrest was being considered.

The investigator requested the judge to include in the case file a ruling on the initiation of two new criminal cases against Malkov. The nature of the new charges has not been disclosed.

• Earlier, Malkov was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement of fuel supplied to the Moscow Region police department. In addition to Malkov, the case involves the chairman of the board of directors and three top managers of the company "Evrotrans" (a Russian transportation company), as well as two police officers involved in ensuring the operation of law enforcement vehicles.
