Russia continues negotiations with Japan and South Korea to resume direct flights, which were suspended at the initiative of the Asian countries in 2022, according to Izvestia citing Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko.

"Technical consultations are ongoing at the level of our airlines and transport agencies. The conversation is difficult and complex. Of course, everything that happened was not our initiative," Rudenko explained.

He expressed hope for the restoration of direct air links with these countries, emphasizing that it would be "economically beneficial" for them as well.
