Migrant Expulsions from Russia Increase 2.6-Fold

Russia has deported around 100,000 migrants for various violations during 2025 and the first half of 2026, according to Deputy Interior Minister and Head of the Citizenship and Foreign National Registration Service Andrey Kikoty, who briefed the President.

In addition, entry to Russia has been denied to another 197,000 foreign nationals.

"We have deported about 100,000 people, 2.6 times more than before, of which 75,000 were forced deportations," Kikoty said.

He also noted that cases of fake marriage and family relationships among migrants have increased by 20%, while the number of intentionally false statements has risen tenfold. This has led to the annulment of 20,000 temporary residence permits and residence permits.

Kikoty emphasized that over the past one and a half years, a total of 800,000 foreigners have violated Russian migration laws. Their details have been added to the registry of controlled individuals, and search operations are underway.
