Russia Delays Diamond Duty Introduction to March from September

The Russian government has postponed the introduction of an export duty on diamonds until March 1, 2027, according to a government decree published on the legal acts portal.

Initially, the duty was scheduled to take effect on September 1, 2026.

The 8% duty will apply to uncut diamonds weighing between 0.45 and 10.8 carats, as well as special-sized diamonds, exported outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
