### Russian Air Defense Intercepts 480 Ukrainian Drones in Massive Nighttime Attack
Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a total of 480 Ukrainian drones in a large-scale nighttime attack on August 8, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In the night of August 8, Russian air defense units detected and neutralized 397 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of aircraft type over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Penza, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov, Tambov, and Tula, as well as over the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea (a region claimed by Ukraine but annexed by Russia in 2014), and the Azov Sea.
The attacks continued into the morning of August 8, when Russian air defense forces reported intercepting and destroying an additional 83 Ukrainian drones. These were detected over the regions of Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, and Tula, the Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea, and the Azov Sea.
In total, Russian air defense systems eliminated 480 drones over the course of the night and morning of August 8.
