OPEC+ Plans to Increase Output by 188,000 Barrels Per Day in September

Key OPEC+ countries have reached a preliminary agreement to further increase oil production, according to Bloomberg sources. The group plans to raise output by an additional 188,000 barrels per day in September compared to August.

The deal involves seven countries: Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman. A final decision is expected following a meeting of group members scheduled to begin at 14:00 Moscow time.

According to calculations by Russian state news agency TASS, these countries have already returned approximately 1.127 million barrels per day to the global market from October 2025 to July 2026. In August, their combined quota was increased by another 188,000 barrels per day.

If the September increase is officially approved, the group will effectively complete the restoration of production volumes previously cut under voluntary commitments of 1.5 million barrels per day (excluding the UAE, which left the OPEC+ agreement). As early as September 2025, alliance members began phasing out voluntary restrictions totaling 2.2 million barrels per day.
