Consolidated regional budgets in Russia were executed with a deficit in the first half of the year, necessitating additional support, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during an economic meeting.

"It is necessary, therefore, to provide additional support to the federal subjects (regions) and their budgets to ensure that state obligations are fulfilled at the regional and municipal levels. And, of course, to continue implementing development programs locally," Putin instructed.
