Russian Employers Owe Workers Over 11 Billion Rubles in Unpaid Wages

Since the beginning of 2026, the Russian Investigative Committee (SK RF) has initiated nearly a thousand criminal cases related to unpaid wages, resulting in a total damage of 11 billion rubles, according to data cited by TASS.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of cases concerning wage arrears that have been forwarded to court has increased by one and a half times. During the investigation process, employees who were victims of unpaid wages have received compensation amounting to 10 billion rubles.

Overall, since the start of the year, the central office of the Investigative Committee has received nearly 2,500 complaints requesting decisions on cases of unpaid salaries.
