Alcohol production in Russia declines 3% in first half of year

In the first quarter of 2026, Russia produced 519.3 million dal of alcoholic beverages, marking a year-on-year decline of 3.1%, according to Rosalkogoltoregulirovanie (the Russian Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation).
The most significant reduction was seen in the wine industry, particularly in liqueur wines, which dropped by 31.6% to 441,100 dal. Production of sparkling (champagne) wines fell by 14% to 6.2 million dal, grape wine by 12.6% to 15.4 million dal, vodka by 4% to 30.1 million dal, and cognac by 6.6% to 3.2 million dal. However, production of liqueur-vodka products increased by 9.9% to 8.85 million dal.
Beer production decreased by 2.3% to 385.1 million dal, while beer-based drinks fell by 4.4% to 58 million dal. Conversely, production of cider, perry, and mead rose by 9.8% to 7.3 million dal.
