Rostandart has approved a new interstate GOST standard for beer-based drinks, clarifying requirements for foam height and foam stability.

According to the new GOST, the foam height and stability must meet a minimum of 15 mm and 1 minute, respectively. Previously, these requirements were set at 30 mm and 3 minutes. Additionally, the standard allows for a deviation of ±0.5% in the ethanol content of beer-based drinks.

Under the new standard, only beverages containing at least 40% beer and brewed from malted barley (pilsner malt) in a proportion of at least 40% of the raw material, with the addition of sugar-containing products, can be labeled as beer-based drinks.
