European countries cannot be considered mediators in resolving the conflict around Ukraine, as they are effectively one of the parties involved, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov pointed out that EU member states are providing direct military support to Kiev, which precludes their neutral participation in the negotiation process.

"Europe today is on the side of Ukraine. European weapons are being used against Russia, and this fact cannot be ignored," Peskov emphasized in a conversation with journalists.

He stressed that given this level of involvement, European countries cannot claim to be impartial mediators in the Ukrainian settlement process.
