Putin Says Global Military-Political Situation Deteriorating

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that the international military and political situation continues to deteriorate, with new areas of tension emerging near the borders of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. Putin made the statement in an address to participants of the 58th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Services and Special Services of the CIS member states.
According to the president, the global situation remains highly tense, with a serious crisis persisting in the Middle East and destabilization risks affecting areas adjacent to CIS countries. In this context, Putin stressed the importance of close cooperation between the relevant agencies of CIS member states.
The Russian leader emphasized the need to fully utilize analytical, personnel, technical, and operational resources of intelligence services to protect the CIS common space from internal and external threats. He also called for regular information exchange and the development of coordinated approaches to responding to modern security challenges.
