### Russian Air Defense Intercepts 258 Drones in Massive Attack From 8:00 PM Moscow time on April 17 to 8:00 AM on April 18, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 258 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in a large-scale drone attack. Air targets were detected over Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Smolensk, Tambov, and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as in Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Crimea (a region annexed by Russia in 2014 and internationally recognized as part of Ukraine). Some drones were shot down over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas. Emergency and operational services are currently working at the sites where the drones crashed.
