Volunteer Aiding Flood Victims in Dagestan Dies in Hospital

A volunteer who was assisting flood victims in Dagestan has died from severe head injuries, according to a statement from the regional Ministry of Health.

Artyom Mikhrabov, who had been helping in Mamedkala since the first days of the disaster, sustained a head injury while assisting victims. He was airlifted to a hospital in Makhachkala but later succumbed to his injuries.

In early April, heavy rains and a dam breach in Dagestan led to widespread flooding, affecting private homes. Over four thousand people were evacuated.
