Negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran stretched for fourteen hours and concluded in the early hours of April 12. According to the Iranian government, despite lingering differences, talks between the two sides will resume.
On the subject of remaining disagreements, the Iranian state broadcaster clarified that although some progress was initially made during the meeting, issues surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and a number of other topics continue to cause serious disputes. In turn, a statement from the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps explicitly indicates that any attempts by military vessels to pass through the waters of the Strait of Hormuz will be firmly blocked.
According to Fars News Agency, the next round of consultations in Islamabad is scheduled for this Sunday.
