### Russian Air Defense Intercepts 215 Ukrainian Drones Overnight
In the night of May 1st, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted an attack by Ukrainian drones. Over a 12-hour period, from 8:00 PM Moscow time on May 1st to 8:00 AM on May 2nd, Russian duty crews neutralized 215 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The majority of drones were intercepted in border and frontline areas, with some also being downed in central regions of Russia.
The breakdown of intercepted drones by region is as follows:
- Kursk Oblast: 46 UAVs
- Bryansk Oblast: 43 UAVs
- Belgorod Oblast: 39 UAVs
- Oryol Oblast: 16 UAVs
- Tula Oblast: 9 UAVs
- Smolensk Oblast: 8 UAVs
- Kaluga Oblast: 7 UAVs
- Tver Oblast: 5 UAVs
- Moscow Oblast: 2 UAVs
- Novgorod Oblast: 1 UAV
In addition, 13 UAVs were intercepted in Krasnodar Krai, 8 in the Republic of Crimea, 7 in Rostov Oblast, and 6 in Voronezh Oblast.
Over the Azov Sea and the Black Sea, 5 and 6 UAVs were shot down respectively.
